چکیده
The present work aims to define the mechanical behavior of a new composite material for preservation and enhancement vast historical architectural heritage particularly vulnerable environmental seismic actions. represents novelty in landscape fibrous mortars consists natural hydraulic lime (NHL)-based mortar, strengthened by Sisal short fibers randomly oriented mortar matrix. developed ensures chemical-physical compatibility with original features masonry structures (especially stone clay) aiming pursue effectiveness durability intervention. use vegetal (i.e., one) is an exciting challenge construction industry considering that they require lower level industrialization their processing, therefore, costs are considerably lower, as compared most common synthetic/metal fibers. Samples Sisal-composite tested three-point bending, estimate both bending stress fracture energy. Tensile compressive tests were also performed on samples, while water retention slump test fresh mix. At last, tensile strand evaluate wire. An interpretation proposed explain two interesting phenomena arose from analysis experimental data. comparison among performances unreinforced reinforced suggests recommendable coating retrofitting interventions alternatively long uni or bi-directional fiber strands adopted classic reinforcement FRCM). mix-independent great workability, excellent ductility, strength, it can be considered promising alternative fiber-reinforcing systems. As final remarks, F1 (length 24 mm) respect F2 13 more buildings, ensuring higher strength and/or ductility composite.

Investigating Efficiency of Shotcrete for Retrofitting Masonry Buildings
One of a feasible and efficient method to retrofit structures is spraying shotcrete which is widely applied around the world. Shotcrete is concrete with fine aggregates which are sprayed through a hose and by air pressure coat at high velocity onto a surface. In the current research, three masonry schools from different regions of Iran are selected. The retrofitted wall surfaces have been prepa...
متن کاملInfluence of Mortar Water Content on the Strength of Lime Mortar Masonry
Water content affects mortar properties and the quality of the resultant masonry, however, it is often subjectively determined by the mason by assessing workability. This lack of explicit methodology and data, can lead to lack of mortar consistency and field performance, adversely affecting full uptake of lime mortars into mainstream technology. The aim of this research is to assist develop con...
متن کاملApplication of Near Surface Mounted (NSM) technique for Seismic Retrofitting of Heritage Buildings
The high vulnerability of the cultural buildings due to seismic actions urged researchers to retrofit them using reversible and compatible techniques. The application of fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) for enhancing the structural behavior of masonry buildings, under seismic actions, has been studied by many researchers. The near-surface mounting (NSM) technique is a relatively new retrofitting ...

Retrofitting Masonry Walls with Carbon Mesh
Static-cyclic shear load tests and tensile tests on retrofitted masonry walls were conducted at UAS Fribourg for an evaluation of the newly developed retrofitting system, the S&P ARMO-System. This retrofitting system consists of a composite of carbon mesh embedded in a specially adapted high quality spray mortar. It can be applied with established construction techniques using traditional const...
